Light Fantastic

This "hat" was created for a client wanted something more "floaty" than a sinamy or straw hat. Black crinoline was curled onto a flat base to create a sheer brim, biot feathers, curled burnt ostrich feathers and merry widow veiling were added to create the impression of a crown. It is held in place by a comb and elastic.
